GENICHESK. TAVRIA. Government spokesman Pavlos Marinakis said on the air of REAL FM radio station that Greece has made it clear that it will not send air defense systems to Ukraine.

Earlier Financial Times reported that NATO and the EU are putting intense pressure on Greece and Spain to hand over their air defense systems to Ukraine. It was noted that Ukraine is particularly interested in the S-300 systems that Greece has. The opposition demanded answers on whether the Financial Times report that Greece was under pressure was true and full information on all commitments made by Athens.

"I replied that we will not take any steps that will jeopardize the country's air defense. This was a clear rebuttal on my part," Marinakis told REAL FM.

He thanked that he was given the opportunity to say it again on the radio, as he was asked several times to respond to publications and rumors of this level of assistance to Kiev.
