With this foresight, Manipal University Jaipur – The First Private University in Rajasthan to receive A+ grade by NAAC with a score of 3.28 has been promoting multidisciplinary research program and building an entrepreneurial ecosystem, focusing on technology development and innovation and has been doing very well in all spheres of science, engineering, and humanities & social sciences.

Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ) has always been committed to providing global platforms to its students through several international programs and activities. The Directorate of International Collaborations (DoIC) at MUJ is responsible for internationalization initiatives and strategic partnerships with outstanding institutions across the globe.
With international tie-ups, Manipal University Jaipur facilitates networking of students and faculty across partner institutions and imparting training to gain practical experience in the international work environment, industries, research institutes, consulting firms, and laboratories. Exposure in top international universities is an aspiration for many Indian students and MUJ provides an opportunity to all its students to fulfil their aspirations. MUJ has over 100 Memorandum of Understanding and Agreements (MoU/MoAs) signed with Universities and Institutes from USA, Canada, UK, France, Australia, Russia, Malaysia, Germany, New Zealand, Portugal, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Nepal, Poland, Serbia, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Malta, Ukraine, and Thailand. Also, MUJ has collaborations with 22 National Partners, which include few IITs and NITs. With many more MoUs in the pipeline, MUJ is striving to leave its impression across the globe.

DoIC also supports the local student committee of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). It aims to connect students with the real work environment, industries, research institutes, employers, consulting firms, and laboratories in foreign countries. The Local Committee of IAESTE at MUJ assists students both incoming and outgoing with documentation, local hospitality, and travel. DoIC also facilitates collaborations and partnerships with institutions globally for academic strategies, Student Exchange Programs, Semester Abroad Program (SAP), student mobility (short or long term), and higher education opportunities. These all students related international activities further serve the determination of enhancing academic standards to meet International dimensions. Manipal University Jaipur not only promotes student related international activities but also promotes faculty exchange, collaborative research, credit transfers, curriculum building, and joint conferences/events, etc. The directorate is also participating in International Joint-projects and funding. In such funding type, MUJ has successfully received an Erasmus+ CBHE (Capacity Building in Higher Education) European Union Consortium Funding of a total sum of € 986086. During the CoViD-19 pandemic situation, Manipal University Jaipur has introduced the “Pathway and Study Abroad Program” along with its few partner international institutes to keep student’s aspirations of studying in global academic institutes alive. Under this program, student gets a chance to study part of the degree at the partner institute.

Innovation and Research have always been an area of paramount importance to Manipal University Jaipur. To this end, intending to encourage the spirit of entrepreneurship, the University has also established an in-house incubation centre to keep various startup incubations under one roof which are shaping under the supervision, guidance, and mentorship of internal as well as external professionals experts. The Directorate of Entrepreneurship Cell (DoEC) at MUJ is striving for smooth and efficient networking amongst students, faculty members, professional mentors, entrepreneurs, angel investors, and venture capitalists. With the efforts of students and mentors, E-Cell, MUJ has incubated 49 startups to date. Manipal University Jaipur has been categorized as 'Band B' institution (rank between 26-50) in the category of Private or Self-Financed Universities in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievement (ARIIA) 2020. Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA) is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India to systematically rank all major higher educational institutions and universities in India on indicators related to “Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development” amongst students and faculties.
E-Cell encourages students to participate in various international and national events like Hackathons, Greenathon, Innovation challenges. Students at Manipal University Jaipur have been winning laurels and accolades by such participation. Some of the major students’ achievements are III position in Drone Olympics at Aero India 2019 and the Winner in Innovation challenge at Hongkong organised by MIT, USA. Research at MUJ have been given a major focus and can be seen through the publications by the faculty members in reputed journals. Currently the quality of research, which is measured by field impact factor of SciVal, is much higher at MUJ than global average. In a short period of its existence, faculty members at MUJ brought extramural grants from major government nodal agencies like DST, DBT, ICSSR, CSIR etc. To expand the innovation ecosystem, MUJ has established high end research facilities including “Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Lab”, “Central Analytical facility”, “Multi-scale high end computing facility”, “Dassault-CATIA lab” and many more.
The Directorate of Research (DoR) at MUJ focuses on interdisciplinary research and aims to solve the industrial as well as societal problems. Some of the significant concluding research projects with societal connects accomplished by MUJ faculty members and students are Municipal Solid waste conversion to value-added products, Eco-Chullah, Multi-Functional Jaipur-Hand, Unbreakable and Fireproof Tiles, Industry Class Face-Shields, and Bio-Compatible Artificial Bones.
