Narendra Modi to visit Odisha on May 6, attend two public meetings: BJP leader

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the twin polls in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on May 6 and address two public meetings, said BJP leader Golak Mohapatra today.

Modi will attend a public meeting in Berhampur at around 10 am and another one in Nabarangpur at around 12:30 pm, informed Mohapatra.

Worth mentioning, voting for four Lok Sabha constituencies (Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, and Berhampur) and 28 Assembly seats will take place on May 13 while May 11 is the last date for campaigning.

Modi’s visit to the state assumes significance as he had recently said in an interview that self-identity of Odisha is in danger.

“Odisha’s self-identity is in danger and Odia language is under threat. I do not think that the people of Odisha will tolerate this for long,” the Prime Minister had said while replying to a question on Odisha and its ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

“The common people of Odisha have aspirations. I think we (BJP) should get a chance to serve the people of the state. We will take Odisha to great heights,” Modi said.
